Wayzata Wrestling Falls to Shakopee in Top 10 Matchup
The Wayzata wrestling team is ranked sixth in class AAA, but the Trojans lost 47-15 to third-ranked Shakopee as part of a tri-meet Thursday at Wayzata.
The Sabers won all but three matches to dominate the match.
That included the marquee match at 160 pounds as Shakopee’s second-ranked Jackson Barron edged top-ranked Charlie Petit of Wayzata 2-0.
Luke Koenen (121), Logan Swensen (133), and Aidan Fartaczek (189) won their matches for Wayzata.
Earlier in the evening the Trojans defeated Hopkins 66-3, while Shakopee beat Hopkins 72-5.
