Wayzata Wins State Clay Target Championship
Wayzata won the final Minnesota spring sports tournament of 2022, winning the state Clay Target State Championships in Prior Lake.
The Trojans finished with a team score of 489 (out of a possible 500) to win the title. Tri-City United finished second, eight points behind.
Davis Hay, Joey Moidl and Madi Schultz all recorded perfect scores of 100. Cole Fox shot a 96 and Hunter Kurth 93 for Wayzata.
In the individual competition portion of the tournament Hay again shot a perfect score of 100 to tie with four others from around the state to tie for top honors.
Wayzata’s team will compete in a national clay target tournament in Michigan in July.
