Wayzata Wins 6AAAA Baseball Title; Now 24-0
The Wayzata baseball team stayed unbeaten on the season and secured their first trip to the state tournament in six years with a 6-1 win over Edina in the Section 6AAAA championship game.
The Trojans broke a scoreless tie scoring two runs in the fifth inning and then added four more in the sixth to help secure the win.
Matthew Berkland and Gaard Swenson each had three hits for Wayzata.
Noah Filer pitched the first 6 1/3 innings to earn his seventh win of the season.

Wayzata (24-0) will undoubtedly be the top seed for the state AAAA tournament and will find out Saturday their quarterfinal round opponent.
The AAAA tournament begins Thursday June 13th at CHS Field in St. Paul.
