Wayzata a winner over Maple Grove in holiday basketball
The Maple Grove and Wayzata boys basketball teams each reached the state tournament last season, but both have a lot of new faces in the lineup this season. One of the returning starters for Wayzata was key to their victory over the Crimson Wednesday. Junior guard Jacob Beninga scored 31 points as the Wayzata Trojans raced out to a lead. Later, Wayzata had to pull away late to beat Maple Grove 60-52.
