Wayzata Volleyball Edges Champlin Park at Breakdown Sideout Classic
The Wayzata volleyball team edged defending state class AAA champion Champlin Park at the Breakdown Sideout Classic.
It was a rematch of last season’s Section 5AAA final.
After the teams split the first two sets, Champlin Park pulled out a 25-23 third set to go up 2-1.
Wayzata bounced back to win the fourth, then won a thrilling fifth set 16-14 to secure the win.
Osseo also won at the Breakdown, beating Tartan in four sets.
Maple Grove and Heritage Christian lost their matches at the event.
