Wayzata to Face Edina for 6AA Boys Hockey Title
For the third straight season the Wayzata boys hockey team faces Edina in the Section 6AA tournament.
The Hornets have defeated the Trojans by one goal in each of the last two section tourneys- last year in the final and in the semifinals in 2022.
Wayzata (23-2-2) is coming off a 7-0 shutout of Holy Angels in the 5AA semifinals.
Brittan Alstead scored two goals and added two assists for the Trojans while Evan Turek posted a shutout in net.
Edina (22-4-1) edged Benilde-St. Margaret’s 2-1 in the other semifinal.
The Trojans and Hornets split their two regular season meetings with each team winning on the other’s home ice.
Wednesday’s section final at Bloomington Ice Garden is a sellout. Game time is 7:00 pm.
