Wayzata Nordic Ski Off to Solid Start Despite Lack of Snow
The Wayzata boys and girls Nordic ski teams are off to solid starts to their seasons even with the lack of snow this winter.
Both Trojans teams placed first at the Lake Conference Meet at Elm Creek Park Reserve on Tuesday.
The unseasonably warm winter has forced the Trojans and other local high school Nordic teams to practice in other ways such as cross training, rollerblading, and running.
The man-made snow at Elm Creek allows the Trojans to get some practice in on the slopes, but it’s been limited with several other teams also wanting to reserve time to practice.
Last year Wayzata placed second at the MSHSL state meet and the Trojan girls took tenth.
