Wayzata, Minnetonka Hockey Skate to 1-1 Tie
The top two teams in Minnesota Class AA boys hockey- Minnetonka and Wayzata- skated to a 1-1 tie as part of the Premier Holiday Classic tournament.
After two scoreless periods, the Skippers’ David Baer scored an unassisted goal early in the third before Rhys Wallin tied the game for the Trojans in the final five minutes.
Neither team scored in overtime.
Wayzata goalie Evan Turek finished with 23 saves while Minnetonka goalie Hunter Bauer stopped 28 shots.
The top-ranked Skippers are now 10-0-1 on the season. 2nd-ranked Wayzata is 10-0-2.
The teams play again February 1st at Minnetonka.
