Wayzata Legion Baseball Tops Anoka in Sub-State Playoffs
The Wayzata American Legion baseball team scored three runs in the first inning and four more in the fifth on the way to an 8-3 win over Anoka in the Sub-State 10 playoffs.
Back to back doubles by James Hansen and Elias Leach in the first gave the Wizards the lead for good at 2-1. Leach scored three runs in the game for Wayzata- the number two seed in the bracket.
Wayzata plays Elk River in the winner’s bracket semifinals Friday at 2:30 pm at Osseo’s Memorial Field.
Top-seeded Osseo faces Buffalo in the first semifinal Friday at noon.
