Wayzata Legion Baseball Places Fourth at State Tournament
The Wayzata Post 118 American Legion baseball team placed fourth at the state tournament Sunday in Rochester.
After going 2-1 in pool play and winning their pool on a tiebreaker, the Wizards beat Foley 9-3 in the quarterfinals.
They lost a 7-6 battle to eventual champion St. Michael Mikes in the semifinals.
Mankato American defeated Wayzata 8-5 in the third place game Sunday morning.
Sub-State 11 champion Wayzata finished 22-19 this summer.
