Wayzata Gymnastics Wins 6AA Title
The Wayzata gymnastics team earned a state meet berth when the Trojans won the Section 6AA meet Saturday.
Wayzata finished the meet with 141.725 points. Hopkins finished second with 140.500 points.
The Royals’ Annabelle Speers won the all-around competition with a score of 37.050. Speers also won the uneven bars and floor exercise events.
Izzy Hayden of Wayzata finished third in the all-around to also earn a state meet berth. Hayden won the balance beam.
Other local state meet qualifiers from those schools include Hopkins’ Geanessa Reglos (vault) and Jade Hutton (beam) and Wayzata’s Sasha Arne (beam and floor) and Tatum Bohlsen (floor).
Class AA competition for the state gymnastics meet is Saturday, March 27 at Champlin Park High School.
