Wayzata Girls Swimming Takes Section 5AA Championship
The Wayzata girls swimming and diving team won five races and showed its team depth to rack up plenty of points to win the Section 5AA meet on Saturday.
The team’s 200- and 400-yard relay teams won titles along with individuals Emily Alberts (200 freestyle), Geneva Fackler (100 free) and Lucy Troyak (500 free).
Libby Bakker of Maple Grove won two races- the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard backstroke as the Crimson finished second behind Wayzata.
Champlin Park placed third as a team with the Rebels’ Olivia Knox winning the 100-yard breaststroke.
It’s the 17th straight section title for the Trojans.
