Wayzata Girls Swimming and Diving Takes Home Section 5AA Title
The Wayzata girls swimming and diving team racked up 605 points to win the Section 5AA championship.
For the Trojans Emily Alberts took home first place in the 200-yard freestyle/100-yard freestyle, Evie Holmes won the 200-yard IM, Brooke Huldeen claimed the 50-yard freestyle, Adele Stark earned top marks in the 500-yard freestyle, and Ashley Mouyenga took first in diving.
Maple Grove placed second overall with Maddie Hetland finished in first place in the 100-yard butterfly.
Champlin Park ended in third overall. Sophie Norsted won the 100-yard backstroke and Hannah Mayor earned a first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The state meet is this Thursday through Saturday at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.
