Wayzata Girls Soccer Beats Edina for 8th State Title
The Wayzata girls soccer team beat Lake Conference rival Edina 3-1 to win their first state title since 2012 and 8th overall in program history.
Wayzata jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead, with Tenley Senden netting a pair of goals after Alex Vellieux opened the scoring.
Goalkeeper Sophia Alvarez made several key saves to help the Trojans secure the win in a rematch of last year’s class AAA title game.
Edina won in 2023.
