Wayzata Girls Hockey Team Beats Blake in Section Semis
The Wayzata girls hockey team continued its strong push late in the season with a 4-2 win over Blake in the Section 6AA semifinals.
The Trojans took a 2-0 lead on goals by Mallory Coffin and Gretchen Branton in the first period.
Blake pulled within a goal late in the first on a great backhander by Addie Burton.
The Bears came out flying to start the second and Lily Delianedis scored to tie the game 2-2.
Wayzata answered as Coffin scored her second of the game just 27 seconds later to make it 3-2.
Sophie Heyer added an insurance goal late in the game as the Trojans celebrated the 4-2 victory.
Wayzata faces Edina for the section title Friday at 7:00 at Parade Ice Garden.
