Wayzata Girls Hockey Shuts Out Metro South In 6AA Quarterfinal
The Wayzata girls’ hockey team advanced on in the Section 6AA playoffs with a 3-0 win over Metro South.
The Trojans got on the board in the first period after freshman defenseman Noelle Noble recorded her first career varsity goal as a Trojan.
Noelle then earned an assist after Sofia Kallebo tipped the puck in for a goal in the second period. Both Noble and Kallebo’s goals came on powerplays.
In the final seconds of the game, Olivia Hinnenthal scored an empty netter, which was also her first career varsity goal at Wayzata.
Ella Podiak got the win in the net and earned her first career shutout.
The Trojans will take on Edina in the Section 6AA semifinals on Wednesday.
