Wayzata Girls Hockey Rallies Past Breck
The Wayzata girls hockey team used a great rally to beat Breck 4-3 in a thriller Friday night.
Breck scored three goals in the first 5:36 of the game to take a 3-0 lead.
Wayzata stormed back in the second, getting three goals of their own in the first 5:36 of that period.
Wayzata’s Gretchen Branton scored what proved to be the winning goal early in the third period.
Branton, Sloane Matthews, and Sami Hackley each had a goal and an assist for the Trojans.
Sophie Urban had three assists for Wayzata.
The win was the fifth straight for Wayzata, although that streak was snapped in a 3-2 loss to Eden Prairie Saturday.
Breck is ranked first in Class A, with Wayzata ranked tenth in Class AA.
Both teams start section play this week.
