Wayzata Girls Hockey Enjoys Ice Time
The Wayzata girls hockey team is back on the ice for summer sessions, and the players are excited.
Ice arenas, including Plymouth Ice Center, re-opened earlier this month after a shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are rules in place to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.
Teams are limited to 20 players on the ice, and are using half of the ice surface.
Scrimmaging is not permitted at the present time.
The Wayzata girls say they were a little rusty when returning to skating, but that’s to be expected.
Wayzata is coming off a strong season that saw the Trojans reach the Section 6AA championship game.
Though they lost a good group of seniors, they also have some strong returners.
That makes this summer even more important as the Trojans look to build on that playoff run.
