Wayzata Girls Hockey Edges Benilde-St. Margaret’s
The Wayzata girls hockey team rallied to beat Benilde-St. Margaret’s 2-1 in a matchup of top ten teams.
Sloane Matthews scored both goals for Wayzata, including a spectacular game-winner on a rush in the third period.
Annika Lavender had 30 saves for the Trojans.
Wayzata improved to 5-0 with the win, while BSM dropped to 0-2-1.
The Red Knights first two games were against the teams ranked number one in class AA (Andover) and class A (Warroad).
Seventh-ranked Wayzata meets number eight Gentry Academy Saturday.
