Wayzata Girls/Boys Cross Country, HCA Boys Win State Titles
The Wayzata boys and girls cross country teams, along with the Heritage Christian Academy boys cross country team, all came away with first place finishes at the MSHSL state championship meet on Saturday.
For the Wayzata boys, it was their third straight Class AAA state title, the first time the program has ever accomplished that feat. Will Weber was the top finisher for the Trojans finishing in third place with a time of 15:21. The Trojans finished with a score of 63.
The Wayzata girls won their second consecutive state championship and were paced by Jazleen Malherek-Osorio, who placed third overall with a time of 18:00. The Trojans won the Class AAA state championship with a score of 48.
The Heritage Christian Academy boys also repeated as state champions. Lev Dougherty was the top finisher for the Eagles, clocking a time of 15:57. Overall as a team, Heritage Christian Academy scored a 106.
