Wayzata Girls Basketball Loses to STMA
The Wayzata girls basketball team lost a close one to St. Michael-Albertville 55-52 in the Trojans’ Lake Conference opener.
Tessa Johnson scored 25 points to lead STMA to the win.
Wayzata is still playing without Mara Braun, one of the state’s best players, who is recovering from an injury.
Five of the top six teams in the state class AAAA rankings are in the Lake Conference.
That includes #5 Wayzata and #6 STMA.
Wayzata faces a huge test Tuesday night as they host top-ranked Hopkins.
