Wayzata Football Ready for State Playoffs
The Wayzata football team is striking a good balance as it gets ready to face St. Michael Albertville in the Class 6A State Quarterfinals.
“At the end of the day we’re a bunch of 16 through 18 year old kids just having fun,” says senior wide receiver Drew Berkland.
But the Trojans are also very focused on continuing their journey to a state title. Wayzata won the 2019 state championship and head coach Lambert Brown knows going all the way comes down to leadership, continual improvement and a little luck. “There’s gonna be six, seven moments that are probably gonna determine the outcome and finding a way to win those moments and win more than you lose.”
Wayzata and STMA will play at 7:00 on Thursday night at Park Center High School.
