Wayzata Football Opens Season With Upset Over Lakeville South
The Wayzata football team kicked off their 2024 season with a 17-14 upset win over #4 Lakeville South.
The Trojans were up 10-7 at the half and came up with several timely turnovers and 4th down stops defensively.
Kyle Boutwell’s 29-yard touchdown run at the start of the 4th quarter gave the Trojans a two-score lead.
Ultimately, the Wayzata defense came up with a big stop late and held off the Cougars for a season-opening win.
