Wayzata Football Falls to Andover in Opener
Andover quarterback Joseph Mapson rushed for five touchdowns and threw for another as the Huskies beat Wayzata 44-20 Thursday night.
Wayzata quarterback Thor Soukup threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in the loss.
Andover kicked a field goal on its first drive of the game after recovering a fumble on the opening kickoff of the game and led throughout.
Mapson rushed for 216 yards, most of them coming after halftime.
Wayzata goes on the road for Week 2, playing at Edina next Friday while Andover hosts Champlin Park.
