Wayzata Football Eliminated by STMA
The Wayzata football team was eliminated from the Class 6A playoffs Thursday, losing 14-7 to St. Michael-Albertville.
The Trojans scored first on a second quarter touchdown run by Julian Diedrich. The Knights got two rushing touchdowns from Jarrett Bennett including the winning score on a 25-yard run with under two minutes to play.
Wayzata finishes the season with an 8-3 record.
STMA (7-4) plays the winner of Friday’s Lakeville South-Shakopee game next Friday night at U.S. Bank Stadium.
