Wayzata Boys Tennis Beats Rochester Mayo for State Title
The Wayzata boys tennis team capped a great season by beating Rochester Mayo 5-2 to win the state class AA title.
The Trojans swept the singles matches and won at second doubles to secure the title.
Wayzata finished unbeaten against Minnesota opponents, with their only loss this spring coming to a team from Illinois in a tournament.
It’s the fifth state championship in program history for the Trojans.
Singles and doubles play is taking place Thursday and Friday at the class AA tournament at Baseline Tennis Center at the University of Minnesota.
