Wayzata Boys Hockey Skates Past Edina
The Wayzata boys hockey team continued its hot streak with a 4-3 win over rival Edina Thursday night at Braemar Arena.
It is the first of three regular season meetings for the Trojans and Hornets this season.
The win is the sixth straight for 10th-ranked Wayzata after starting 0-2.
John Mattson and Jake Schneider scored in the first period to give Wayzata a 2-0 lead.
Edina scored a pair of goals in the second to tie the game 2-2.
Schneider gave the Trojans the lead for good with a goal in the second period, and Mattson added his second goal in the third.
Will Ingemann had 36 saves for Wayzata, while Robbie Clarkowski of Edina stopped 38 shots.
The teams play again February 27 and March 4, both at Plymouth Ice Center.
