Wayzata Boys Hockey Skates Past Benilde-St. Margaret’s 4-2
The Wayzata boys hockey team scored twice late in the third period to beat Benilde-St. Margaret’s 4-2 Wednesday night.
The Trojans’ Jake Schneider tipped in Reece Gardner’s shot with under 90 seconds to play in the game, breaking a 2-2 tie.
Less than 10 seconds later Jake Keller scored his second goal of the game and the final goal of the night.
Gavin O’Connell also scored twice for the Trojans. Ryan Gearen scored both Red Knights’ goals.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s (12-5-0) plays at Holy Family Thursday night in their final game of the regular season.
Wayzata (10-5-1) hosts Grand Rapids Saturday afternoon in their last game of the regular season.
Both teams will compete in the Section 6AA tournament starting March 18th.
