Wayzata Boys Hockey Set to Host CCX Turkey Trot Tournament
The Wayzata boys hockey team is set to kick off the 2022-23 season by hosting the CCX Turkey Trot tournament this weekend at Plymouth Ice Center.
Maple Grove, Moorhead, and defending champion Edina are the other teams in the high-powered tournament.
All three teams other than Wayzata were in the state tournament last season.
The host Trojans return standout goalie Will Ingemann and a good group of forwards from a team that won 17 games last season and lost in overtime to Edina in the Section 6AA semifinals.
Wayzata faces Moorhead in the second game of the Turkey Trot Friday night, following Maple Grove vs Edina.
