Wayzata Boys Hockey Goalie Will Ingemann Named Star Tribune Metro Player of Year
Wayzata boys hockey standout Will Ingemann, a senior goalie, is the Star Tribune Metro Player of the year.
Ingemann is the first goalie to receive the award, which was first presented in 1985.
He posted an 18-7-2 record this season, with a 1.38 goals against average and .941 save percentage. Ingemann had six shutouts.
Wayzata lost 2-1 to Edina in the Section 6AA championship game last week.
Ingemann has committed to the University of St. Thomas.
In addition to Ingemann, the Star Tribune’s all-metro first team includes Maple Grove forward Finn Brink.
Brink helped the Crimson to the Section 5AA championship with a hat trick in the section final.
The University of Wisconsin commit enters the state tournament with 31 goals and 37 assists.
Defenseman Chase Cheslock of Rogers made the first team, and his teammate Sam Ranallo made the second team.
Forwards Jordan Ronn of Champlin Park and Drew Stewart of Benilde-St. Margaret’s are third team all-metro picks.
