Wayzata Boys Hockey Falls to Rogers
In a matchup of top 10 boys hockey teams, Rogers beat Wayzata 3-1 Thursday.
Rogers is ranked fifth and Wayzata sixth in class AA.
Sam Ranallo scored a first period goal for Rogers and added an empty-netter late in the third to clinch the win.
Cade Chapman saved 32 of 33 shots he faced to earn the win for the Royals.
Rogers finishes the regular season with a 16-6-3 record. They’ll be one of the top two seeds for the Section 5AA tournament.
Wayzata is 16-6-2 heading into Saturday’s regular season finale against Edina.
Those two teams and Benilde-St. Margaret’s will be the top contenders in Section 6AA.
