Wayzata Boys Hockey Falls to Lakeville South in Semifinals
The Wayzata boys hockey team built a 2-0 lead but couldn’t hold on in a 5-3 loss to Lakeville South in the state Class AA semifinals.
The Trojans scored on the opening shift of the game as Hayden Davison’s pass deflected off a defenseman’s skate and in.
They added a goal by Dylan Lewis late in the second to go up 2-0.
The Cougars got a rebound goal with just nine seconds left in the second to set up their comeback.
Lakeville South scored three straight in the third to go up 4-2.
Lewis added a goal with about a minute and a half to play before the Cougars sealed it with an empty net goal.
Wayzata finished the season with a record of 14-6-2.
