Wayzata Boys Hockey Falls To Edina in Section 6AA Final
For a third straight year, the Wayzata boys hockey team saw their season come to an end against Edina in the postseason.
In front of a sell-out crowd at the Bloomington Ice Garden, the Hornets defeated the Trojans 4-1 to claim the Section 6AA championship.
Brittan Alstead’s wrister from Rhys Wallin got the Trojans on the board first in the first period, but it was all Edina after that as the Hornets scored four unanswered goals, including a short-handed goal in the third period from Barrett Dexheimer.
Jackson Nevers, Mason West, and Bobby Cowan led Edina in scoring, each netting two points.
The Trojans end their season with a 23-3-2 record.
Edina finished as state runner-up in class AA last season.
