Wayzata Boys Hockey Falls to Edina in Overtime in Section 6AA Semifinals
The Wayzata boys hockey team fell to Edina 1-0 in overtime in the Section 6AA semifinals Saturday.
Both of the teams’ meetings in Lake Conference play were 1-0 games also, with each team winning once.
Edina dominated the first period Saturday, with an even second period and Wayzata getting the best of the third.
After three scoreless periods, Edina scored on the first shift in overtime.
AJ Doll, passed to Trey Fechko, who delivered a great backhand pass to Jimmy Clark alone in front for the goal.
Edina will face top seed Benilde-St. Margaret’s for the section title Wednesday.
