Wayzata Boys Hockey Falls to Edina for Third Straight Season in 6AA Final
The Wayzata boys hockey team saw its season come to an end in the Section 6AA Final, falling to Edina by a score of 4-1.
It’s the third year in a row that the Trojans have come up one game short of a trip to the Class AA state tournament, losing to Edina in all three section finals.
The Hornets scored on a goal from Bode McConnell in the first period.
Wayzata responded in the second off a Chris Pyle goal.
Edina then scored three unanswered goals in the third; two from Mason West and one from Freddie Schneider to earn the 4-1 win.
Wayzata finishes its season with a 16-9-3 record.
It’s the 37th trip to state for Edina.
