Wayzata Boys Hockey Blanks Edina 1-0 in Overtime
John Mattson scored on a rebound 29 seconds into overtime giving the Wayzata boys hockey team the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Edina.
Kasen Sauer’s banged off the goalpost right to Mattson who scored his ninth goal of the season.
Both goalies were outstanding. Wayzata’s Will Ingemann stopped all 29 shots he faced while Edina’s Robbie Clarkowski finished with 36 saves.
The Hornets beat the Trojans on the first weekend of the season in the CCX Turkey Trot Tournament. The teams face each other again February 19th at the Plymouth Ice Center.
