Wayzata Boys Basketball Shuts Down Cretin-Derham Hall, Advances to State Title Game
For a fourth straight season, the Wayzata boys basketball team will play in the class AAAA state championship.
The Trojans dispatched Cretin-Derham Hall in the semifinals, 74-48.
Jackson McAndrew led the way for Wayzata with 25 points on 11-16 shooting from the field. Isaac Olmstead also scored in double figures, netting 12 points.
In total eleven Trojans got in the scoring column for Wayzata. The Trojans recorded 27 assists and just six turnovers.
Defensively, Wayzata held the Raiders scoreless for a seven-and-a-half-minute stretch in the second half.
The Trojans will play Minnetonka in the class AAAA championship on Saturday. Wayzata beat Minnetonka twice during the regular season.
