Wayzata Boys Basketball Routs Hopkins
The Wayzata boys basketball put up 57 second half points to pull away and beat Hopkins 89-64 for the Trojans’ eighth straight win.
Trailing by as many as nine in the first half, Wayzata closed with a 22-7 scoring run to close the first half and then outscored Hopkins 57-38 in the second half.
Jackson McAndrew scored 27 points while Spencer Hall added 15. Jake Schmitt and Hayden Tibbits scored 13 each for the Trojans (8-3).
Jayden Moore scored 20 points to lead Hopkins (11-2).
Wayzata made 14 three-pointers in the game.
The Trojans are ranked seventh in class AAAA while the Royals are ranked fifth.
The teams play again February 10th at Hopkins.
