Wayzata Boys Basketball Rallies Past Cretin-Derham Hall
The Wayzata boys basketball team rallied past Cretin-Derham Hall for a 59-48 win in the state class AAAA semifinals.
The Trojans advanced to the championship game for the second straight season; they beat Cretin in last year’s title game.
Wayzata got off to a very slow start offensively, and trailed 21-19 at halftime.
The action picked up considerably in the second half for both teams.
A three-pointer for Michigan State recruit Tre Holloman put the Raiders up by four 39-35.
Wayzata went on a 10-0 run with Hayden Tibbits leading the way.
The junior scored ten straight points and 21 in the second half as the Trojans pushed their lead to double figures.
Wayzata meets Park Center for the class AAAA title Saturday night at 8:00 at Williams Arena.
The Trojans have won two state titles, in 1959 and 2021.
