Wayzata Boys Basketball Beat Duluth East in State Quarterfinals
The Wayzata boys basketball team overcame a halftime deficit to beat Duluth East 78-69 in the state class AAAA quarterfinals.
The Greyhounds had a 42-36 lead at halftime before Wayzata turned it on in the second half.
Eddie Beeninga led the charge with 26 points for the Trojans.
Camden Heide had 15 despite battling leg cramps, while Carter Bjerke (14) and Kody Williams (10) also reached double figures.
Wayzata, the number two seed from the north sections, faces #1 seed from the south sections Shakopee in the semifinals.
That is Thursday April 8 at Target Center.
