Wayzata Baseball Team Set for Big Season
The Wayzata baseball team has to replace fifteen graduated seniors but they still expect a big 2022 season.
The Trojans return five players from their section roster.
Among the top returners are infielder Drew Berkland, a University of Minnesota recruit; outfielder Alex Wain, and pitcher Quin Ask.
The Trojans started 8-0 last season and were ranked number one but slumped at the end and didn’t reach the state tournament.
There may not be as much hype this season to start, but the Wayzata guys expect to contend for the Section 6AAAA title.
The Trojans are ranked fifth in the pre-season poll.
Wayzata is scheduled to open the season at home next Wednesday April 13 against St. Michael-Albertville.
