Wayzata Baseball Beats Maple Grove on Berkland Homerun
Drew Berkland hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Wayzata baseball team a 4-3 win over Maple Grove Thursday.
The win broke a four-game losing streak for the Trojans (5-10).
The Crimson (13-3) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run homer by Hunter Gerber.
Wayzata scored a single run in the fifth inning on an infield groundout by Brady Lash.
Maple Grove then went ahead 3-1 in the top of the seventh inning on a run-scoring single by Cam Elder before Berkland’s walk-off homer in the bottom of the seventh.
