Wayzata Baseball Beats Hopkins to Share Lake Conference Title
The Wayzata baseball team beat Hopkins 5-2 to get a piece of the Lake Conference championship.
The Trojans and Royals tied for the title.
The win helped Wayzata earn the top seed for the Section 6AAAA tournament. Hopkins is the third seed.
Wayzata broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the fourth inning.
They added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings, including Brennan Albert’s solo homerun.
Blake Ask pitched 6 2/3 strong innings for the win for Wayzata.
Play starts Friday in the Section 6AAAA tournament.
The top two seeds, Wayzata and St. Louis Park, have first round byes.
