Totino-Grace Wrestling Falls in State AA Semifinals
After beating Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in the quarterfinals, the Totino-Grace wrestling team took its first loss of the season, falling 38-24 to Kasson-Mantorville in the state class AA semifinals.
The teams split the first four matches, with TG taking its only lead 9-7 as Sean O’Brien won by decision at 127 pounds.
The Komets won six of the next seven matches to put it out of reach.
Totino-Grace did have a late highlight as Cy Kruse broke the state record for pins in a season, getting his 46th fall in the 215-pound match.
Totino-Grace is facing Becker in the third place match, while Kasson-Mantorville meets Simley for the class AA title.
