Totino-Grace Wrestlers Win State Titles
Totino-Grace wrestlers Jake Svihel and Joey Thompson captured state titles Saturday.
Svihel beat Mitchel Petersen of Byron 7-3 to win the Class AA 126-pound title.
It’s Svihel’s first championship after three runner up finishes.
Thompson beat Maxwell Petersen of Byron 10-5 to take the AA 113-pound title.
Thomson was Class AAA 106-pound champ while wrestling for Maple Grove last season.
Maple Grove’s Gavin Peterson and Cael Swensen and Kyler Wong of Wayzata placed fifth in Class AAA.
