Totino-Grace Wins Class AAA Boys Basketball Championship
Totino-Grace captured its first-ever state championship in boys basketball Saturday, beating DeLaSalle 50-44 in the Class AAA title game.
The Eagles, the top-ranked team in Class AAA, closed the game on a 14-3 scoring run.
That includes scoring the last nine points after DeLaSalle took a 44-41 lead on a Nasir Whitlock three-pointer.
Taison Chatman led a balanced scoring attack for Grace, netting 15 points. Ahjany Lee added 14, Patrick Bath 10 and Tommy Humphries 9.
The Eagles (27-5) were making their first state tournament appearance since 2006.
