Totino-Grace Rallies to Beat Princeton in Sub-State 8 Legion Baseball
Matthew Galatzer’s bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth inning brought home the winning run as the Totino-Grace American Legion baseball team beat Princeton 6-5 in nine innings Thursday.
It was a big day for Galatzer. Trailing 2-0 in the third inning he hit a three-run homer to put T-G ahead, briefly.
Princeton would tie the score and also led 5-4 in the fifth and 6-5 in the ninth but couldn’t hold the leads.
Before Galatzer’s game-winning hit in the ninth Will Franczak drove in Evan Schaust with the tying run.
It was the third win of the Sub-State 8 tournament for Totino-Grace who lost to St. Michael Friday morning but remain alive in the double elimination tournament.
The tourney runs Saturday at Totino-Grace High School.
Maple Grove is the host team this year for next week’s state tournament.
