Totino-Grace Knocks Off Park Center In Boys Basketball Showdown
In a battle of top-ranked boys basketball teams in the state in Class 4A and 3A, Totino-Grace avenged two losses against Park Center from last year and defeated the Pirates, 82-72.
The Eagles came into Tuesday night with a 3-2 record and ranked #1 in Class 3A; the Pirates were undefeated at 6-0 and #1 in 4A.
It was a back-and-forth game from start to finish, but the Eagles were able to pull away late with a 6-0 run in the final two minutes of regulation.
Five players scored in double figures for Totino-Grace. Tyler Wagner led the way with 17 points while Isaiah Johnson, Tian Chatman, and Chace Watley each had 15, and Dothan Ijadimbola added 14.
Casmir Chavis led Park Center in scoring. The Pirates dropped to 6-1 and will face Park of Cottage Grove on Thursday.
TG is off until after Christmas break when they in the Hoop City Classic in Sioux Falls.
