Totino-Grace Girls Basketball Wins State Tournament Opener
The Totino-Grace girls basketball team played a great first half on the way to a 64-43 win over Detroit Lakes in the class AAA quarterfinals.
The Eagles dominated the latter part of the first half to build a 39-15 halftime lead.
Usual scoring leaders Hannah Herzig (17 points) and Leah Dengerud (14) played their usual strong games.
The Eagles also got a big boost from Abby Lord, who scored 16 points on 7-for-14 shooting.
Jacee Hauser scored 15 points to lead Detroit Lakes.
UPDATE: Totino-Grace beat St. Paul Como Park 86-72 in the semifinals to advance to Saturday’s championship game.
