Totino-Grace Football Drops Class 4A Showdown to Hutchinson
In a match-up of two of the top three teams ranked in the state in Class 4A football, Hutchinson defeated Totino-Grace 20-3 on Friday at Jim Totino Field.
The Tigers got out of the gates in a hurry, scoring on rushing touchdowns in the first quarter from Carter Verhasselt and Charlie Renner.
Totino-Grace got on the board late in the second quarter when Tanner Smith connected on a 30-yard field goal.
The Eagles’ defense held Hutchinson scoreless in the second and third quarters and started the fourth quarter with back-to-back sacks from Michael Strong, but the T-G offense couldn’t get anything going offensively and the Tigers secured the 20-3 win with another rushing touchdown from Verhasselt.
Totino-Grace will look to bounce back at Benilde-St. Margaret’s on Friday in a game you can watch live on CCX while Hutchinson will host Rocori.
